Quality and Accreditations
Commands is one of the few direct mail and e-commerce fulfilment service companies in Scotland to be accredited with the international standard for quality management and quality assurance, ISO 9001, as well as the global standard for information security, ISO 27001. And in 2021, Commands’ fulfilment warehouse and service was also certified Organic by the Biodynamic Association (BDA). We are also ISO 14001 accredited, the international standard for environmental sustainability.
Our staff are central to success and we give them regular training in our quality processes and data security.
Just as importantly, we ensure all our staff understand our customers’ brands, products and quality expectations and make sure that every one of us follow and exceed the standards set.
From the amount of tissue paper we wrap around a pair of socks, to the bespoke packaging we have developed to ensure a customers’ craft gin arrives in one piece, to carefully brushing the fur on a toy before it is packed and dispatched – our focus is always on quality.
Information Management – ISO 27001
ISO 27001 is the most influential globally recognised standard for information security management. This ensures quality procedures and guarantees data protection. All customer data is transferred via our secure FTP site to which each customer is given their own unique log-in access. On completion of your project data is subject to secure disposal in accordance with current data protection legislation. We are fully GDPR compliant and our Data Privacy Policy can be found here.
Quality Assurance – ISO 9001
ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality assurance. This means how we work, the service that we provide and our quality management system meet the rigorous demands of this standard.
ISO 14001 – The Environmental Standard
Commands is ISO 14001 accredited. ISO 14001 is an internationally-recognised certificate used to evaluate how environmental responsibilities are measured.
These areas include waste management, recycling, use and sourcing of sustainable materials, energy efficiency and training.

BDA Organic Certification
A growing number of our e-commerce business owners stock some organic products, and some are moving towards 100% organic. They have taken the time to carefully source organic products, so being able to deliver their vision through the whole supply chain is important to them.
The standards required to achieve organic certification are high. They are legally set out by the EU – Article 29 Regulation No 834/2007 & No 889/2008. The BDA physically inspect the premises and critically assess areas such as record keeping, labelling, stock separation, materials and cleaning processes.
So even for our non-organic customers, achieving these high standards is another demonstration of the careful processes we have in place which ensure everyone’s stock is stored, moved and shipped with the utmost care and attention.
